At the gates of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert, the shore invites travellers to escape for a few days or longer! The whole region boasts heavenly natural spaces, and an exceptionally mild climate all year long.
Between Rabat and Casablanca, the beaches of Temara extend over 25 km. The “sable d’or” beaches are heavenly! In Casablanca, a walk along the seafront path will bring you to a succession of beaches, café terraces and saltwater pools. Less crowded during the week, this is the gathering place for locals at sunset.

From El-Jadida, follow the coastal to Safi. Only 7 km south of the city, the beaches of Sidi Bouzid are quite invigoration. Not far from here, is Oualidia’s lagoon, surprisingly spared from seaside tourism. Go for long walks on the beautiful beaches between the lagoon and the ocean.
If you’re heading to Safi, it is worth stopping by the Lalla Fatna beach. Well sheltered at the feet of some cliffs, it is a great place for fishing and swimming. Further south, Essaouira and the Mogador islands offer splendid landscapes of dunes, coastal cliffs and lagoons. Swept by the tropical trade winds year round, Essaouira’s beaches are as popular with hikers as they are with swimmers, and they are almost never crowded…
On the coastal road between Agadir and Tan-Tan, 40 km north of Tiznit, go to the Oued Massa natural reserve to relax on its massive beach and admire its impressible troglodyte village. The landscapes here will take your breath away, especially when the wind picks up and the sea becomes wild. Driving further down the coastal road, you’ll reach Morocco’s longest and most untamed beach: la plage blanche, a vast expanse of powdery sand.
At the western Saharan gates, discover the shores around Dakla! A haven of serenity between lagoon and ocean, hundreds of kilometres of deserted beaches extend north and south of the city. When in the area, the first thing you should do it take a boat out into the ocean to meet dolphins and sea turtles!
