The Mountains of Morocco

Among the Moroccan ranges, you’ll come across the M’Goun massif. Situated in the High Atlas and not far from Marrakesh and Toubkal national park, Mount M’Goun stands proudly at over four thousand metres above sea level. In this region you’ll stumble on mountain villages, landscapes that switch between greenery and snowy caps, and valleys – excellent opportunities to start your encounter with the Moroccan High Atlas.

A Trip off the Beaten Track

Morocco is full of magnificent valleys dominated by mountains with distinctive contours, as in the Valley of the Roses, one of the most lovely in southern Morocco, although the majestic gorges of the Dadès valley are just as stunning. These areas are mostly situated in one of the country’s nine national parks, with the Toubkal National Park being one of the most famous for its mythical treks in the Toubkal massif. If you want to see Saharan wild life, Souss Massa has a very rich fauna, while d’Al Hoceima National Park has a Mediterranean look with scrubland and cultivated fields dotted around. By travelling across the parks and mountains, you’ll discover another Morocco, a more natural and authentic one.
