An easy trek around Essaouira’s surroundings. Four days of walking between the Atlantic and the Atlas foothills full of argan trees, with camels carrying the luggage and equipment. You’ll walk along deserted beaches, some nestled into the depths of isolated coves, and some lining large bays. Countless occasions to go for a swim! This holiday is ideal for a family trip to Morocco, and we’ve added days to discover the iconic cities of Essaouira and Marrakech to cap it off.

> Bivouac sehlter during the hike : Each night, igloo tents (Ferrino brand) are set up near the kitchen tent and the mess tent where meals are taken. Floor cushions and rugs help make seating comfortable and lanterns add ambiance! Wash is quick and conveniences rustic. What is prioritized on this kind of trip is meeting local people and getting to know your Berber team (guide, cook, and mule driver).No worries! Your team will help you the first couple of times with setting up your tent if you need it. te.

Your itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech
Welcome and transfer from the Marrakech International Airport


Day 2 : Marrakech - Tafadna

2h of walking
You’ll take a private car to Essaouira. 170 km about a 2h30 drive. Once there, you’ll meet your guide and head south to the Tafadna circus 70 kilomètres away (1h30min). Picnic on the beach where you’ll meet up with the rest of the team. While they set up camp, you’ll go for a first hike on the extensive dune lined beach.


Day 3 : Iftane Beach

About 4h of walking
You’ll cross the Igzoulne Mountain, covered in argan trees. From here, you’ll have an incredible view over the ocean. Discover wild coves, and walk for to the enormous Iftane beach and Sidi Ahmed Saih marabout.
Bivouac overnight.


Day 4 : Marabout Sidi Mbarek

About 3h of walking
You’ll walk along the ocean atop impressive cliffs until you reach the waterfalls and marabout of Sidi Mbarek. Relax and go for a swim. Be careful when you swim, because on this part of the Atlantic coast, the beaches are often deserted.
Bivouac at Sidi Mbarek, visit the village in the afternoon.


Day 5 : Sidi Kaouki Beach
About 3h of walking
Heading north, you’ll reach the beach of Sidi Kaouki and its white marabout on the edge of the ocean. Last picnic lunch with your camel driving team.
Short car transfer 5 km to Essaouira in the afternoon.
Overnight in a riad in the medina.


Day 6 : Essaouira

Free day in Essaouira. The city, huddled into its pink ramparts looks out to the ocean. It has become one of Morocco’s cult destinations because it offers a complete travel experience: lively alleyways, restaurants with terraces, beaches, strolls along the ramparts...
Overnight in the same riad as the night before.


Day 7 : Marrakech

Transfer to Marrakech. Settle into your riad and set off to discover the city, starting at the Jemaa el Fnaa square, explore the souks, the palaces, the gardens…


Day 8 : Marrakech

After breakfast, transfer to the Marrakech airport.

> During your tour : A mountain guide accredited by the Moroccan ministry of tourism will be by your side. Your guide can adapt the trek for all levels of difficulty, from beginner to expert. He is assisted by a camel driver and a cook, depending on the size of the group
