Morocco’s northern regions and the Ref Mountains remain largely off the tourist tracks and yet still offer wild landscapes of great beauty. From Tangier and Tetouan, in the middle of pine forests, the views down onto the wild coves of the Moroccan coast are stunning. Perched on the flanks of the Rif hills, the regions kasbahs will draw you in from behind their powerful orange ramparts. Go further into the interior lands passing through Chefchaouen and the rest of the Middle Atlas’ beautiful fortified towns. You will then discover Morocco’s two most beautiful imperial cities: Fes and Meknes.

Stopping at the imperial city of Rabat is a mandatory part of any trip down Morocco’s Atlantic coast, before continuing the drive down the coastal road to Safi. Through surreal landscapes you’ll discover the beaches of Sidi Bouzid and Lalla Fatna, as well as the Oualidia Lagoon, all surprisingly spared from the seaside tourism industry. Further south, on a peninsula brushed by the tropical trade winds, Essaouira keeps all the secrets of the legendary city of Mogador. From here, it is easy to go off and discover the imperial city of Marrakech at the foot of the Atlas Mountains! Morocco’s little red pearl, it is said that an entire lifetime would not be enough to exhaust all of its charms…

Go on an excursion to the High Atlas Mountains, to the Jebel Toubkal National Park. Through vast thuja and juniper forests, head off in the direction of the Ourika N’Fiss and Sous Valleys. To get off the tourist tracks, explore the exceptional lands of the M’Goun region, between steep mountain crests and snow capped peaks, plains and plateaus and gorges and valleys. From here, it is easy to get to the breathtaking gorges of the Dades and Todra valleys, letting your imagination run in the middle of forests of almond trees, walnut trees and poplars.

South of the Atlas Mountains, discover all the landscapes of the desert. From Zagora and M’Hamid on the edge of the valley, go on an adventure in the Draa Hamada. Along oueds and palm groves, you’ll cross through vast regs of black rocks like nothing you’ve ever seen before! A bit further, closer to Merzouga, the desert extends as far as the eye can see. The traveller then penetrates into the heart of the Chebbi erg in a universe of golden sand dunes, where an overnight in a bivouac is strongly recommended, if only to admire the splendid show of a sunset over the desert!
